Figure with Orb: Detail from Mural for Burning Man 2014

cswmuralorb

This 5 x 7″ sketch by Rosel Weedn  will become one of many 5 x 7′ panels that together will extend for the length of the Camp of the Space Wanderer for Burning Man 2014.

The image seen will depend on the lighting conditions. For example, aboriginal dots are often interpreted to signify space/time shifts in dimension, fitting for our camp. Aboriginal stories can play in to the mural with black light as pictures within pictures–as parallel stories of humans often being inspired or influenced by the same elements. One image during the day shows another perspective at night. There are many cultural aspects that play into the journey of our human DNA throughout space and time that are relevant, fun to work, inspiring for artists and viewers, and can factor into interactive elements in our camp related to social dreaming, active imagination, and dream tending activities we plan for our caravansary.
